While I am perhaps one of the last persons on earth to fetishize “certainty”, I do believe we had our fair share of events giving rise to uncertainty this year, not in the least because of the financial crisis. While I still find strength in the thought that in uncertainty, limitless possibilities arise, precisely because the space of opportunities is open, I also think a sense of balance is due next year and that some certainty and stability would be desirable.
