Listening to DJ Krust & Saul Williams – Coded Language. Don’t think I have quite listened to such a powerful track before; can’t believe I never heard it before either – Coded Language came out in 1999. It is perhaps best described as a marrying of spoken word, political activism, hip hop, drum n bass and jam poetry. Is there a category for this kind of expression? (it’s weird to say ‘music’).
