you’re so cool ..
I look back and I’m amazed
That my thoughts were so clear and true;
That three words went through my mind endlessly,
Repeating themselves like a broken record…
You’re so cool
You’re so cool
You’re so cool
Couldn’t quite sleep last night, woke up at around 3am and ended up listening to some old tunes, including Solarcoaster, which is probably one of my all-time favorite tracks. Music and memories can do some weird things to a person. An old picture doesn’t do as much to bring you back to that state of mind, to the emotions and feelings of that time, in that place, than a tune you listened to, there and then.
They are an aural imprint of the past – listening to the tune years later, you suddenly realize what’s lost, what you will never get back again. It might make you feel weak, or old. But stories are always finite. They end. Moments worth living for, they come and go. If it’s a consolation: you breathed them once, shared them with that special person. That person you look at silently and can’t help but think quietly (“you’re so cool..”). Surging electricity just by being with them. The moment is captured in our memories, in music, and live on, however incomplete yet perfected.
