i am leaving for hong kong next week, as per title. i look forward to walking around in the city, soaking in the impressions, the noise, the smells, the sights, the lights.

a strange sensation has been keeping me company for the last few days. i have been oddly obsessed with my visit to hong kong, looking much forward to it. i’m expressing an attachment for the place that i know i have, although i usually never experience it in such a way (mostly because travel has become such a necessary evil for me). i am imagining myself in hong kong from time to time, wandering around in the streets, wondering who to contact, what conversations i will be having. perhaps hong kong also allows me to be a more whole self, where i am not only in academia, but where i can indulge all parts of my identity, culinary and culturally.
