reflecting

it’s one of those quiet-before-the storm moments; a sense that so much is about to change in the upcoming few years. who knows where we will all end up? what life will bring?

looking back, there are at least two things in my life i helped start and build that i am sincerely proud of – one is my master’s thesis, the other is the wong kar wai website and community. how many people can say that they have done something they are really happy to be remembered for? perhaps i am asking for too much when i hope to add a third by the end of 2009. but it’s worth trying.

book and sword : gratitude and revenge

is the first novel written by Jin Yong. The protagonist is Chan Ka Lok, who is the leader of the Red Flower Society. The book title refers to Ka Lok being famous for being well-versed in culture and martial arts, but also for having to make a difficult ethical decision. My father named me and my brother after him.

The subtitle is from a poem Desiderata
