listening to .. “who will find me”
In a world of desire,
oh who would come and catch you when you fall
in the wind and the fire?
oh who would come to save you?High above any danger…
Locked inside the tower of your mind,
dreams are veiled; passion blinded.
Safe from fear and fire.Oh who will find me?
In your midnight eyes, I see a summer sunrise.
Fly far beyond these silver winter skies.
I see a beautiful life. Oh, come and get away.Do you see the horizon?
Walk upon the water, you will find
all is still and yet alive
in the morning light.Oh who will find me?
In your midnight eyes, I see a summer sunrise.
Fly far beyond these silver winter skies.
I see a beautiful life. Oh, come and get away.Dance dance in the morning light.
Open your darkened eyes.
Hey, hey, it’s a beautiful day.
It’ll be ok. It’ll be ok.Take a look, spin around, this is where I find you… where the roses bloom.
Leave your cares, leave your fears, leave them all behind you… yeah yeah.
It’s a beautiful day in the city of shining light.
It’s a beautiful day. This is where I find you… yeah yeah.
The new State of Trance by Armin Van Buuren has been out for some time now and it’s been a regular in my CD player at home, especially the first CD which is more chill (think beach rather than club trance). One of my favorite tracks is the fourth one, “who will find me” by DJ Shah featuring Adrina Thorpe. Although the lyrics might seem positive and hopeful, it echoes an undertone of sadness to me. Kind of like Dido in Thank You, where “your picture on the wall, reminds me it’s not so bad..”. Or perhaps not sadness, but rather a feeling of tiredness. I imagine the girl singing the song .. having reached rock bottom, tired, worn out, and at that point, one finds hope and light in the tiniest things. Like holding a warm (plastic) cup of tea from Burger King at Schiphol airport at around 7am in the morning and being intensely grateful for it, after a night of clubbing in The Hague – having missed the last night train, having to wait for the first morning train (around 6am), arriving at the airport train station, having to wait for the bus home, seeing everybody going to work.
At the bottom of the well, but looking up, and seeing the first rays of sunlight breaking through. Let me know if you like the song.

Sounds like you are speaking from personal experience in that example…
Funny but I never thought that song by Dido was sad, maybe because I always associated it with being happily in a relationship.
