If only president Bush was capable of this kind of reasoning ..

An essay written by highly respected law professor Geoffrey Stone before the war on Iraq started, evaluating what the potential threats and advantages were to starting a war. Really nice display of how a bit of thoughtful reasoning can go a long way in exposing Very Stupid Ideas.
Also take the time to read the comments; they are pretty funny (and surreal to me) and reminds me of the awkwardness of miscommunication, especially when anger and sarcasm are involved. The person who invents an online sarcasm detector is a millionaire waiting to happen.

book and sword : gratitude and revenge

is the first novel written by Jin Yong. The protagonist is Chan Ka Lok, who is the leader of the Red Flower Society. The book title refers to Ka Lok being famous for being well-versed in culture and martial arts, but also for having to make a difficult ethical decision. My father named me and my brother after him.

The subtitle is from a poem Desiderata
