Where I’m Likely to Find it – Haruki Murakami

“No, he works at Merrill Lynch.”

“The investment firm?”

“That’s right,” she replied, clearly a little irritated. What other Merrill Lynch is there? her tone implied. “He’s a stockbroker.”

Lokhin, my brother, recently started working at Merrill Lynch. Murakami wrote a short story in the New Yorker a few months ago, tangentially touching upon Merrill Lynch. It is 4.56am here in Philadelphia while reading this Murakami short. Reminiscences of home. This story is dedicated to Lokhin. Miss you. Work hard.

book and sword : gratitude and revenge

is the first novel written by Jin Yong. The protagonist is Chan Ka Lok, who is the leader of the Red Flower Society. The book title refers to Ka Lok being famous for being well-versed in culture and martial arts, but also for having to make a difficult ethical decision. My father named me and my brother after him.
