Where I’m Likely to Find it
Where I’m Likely to Find it – Haruki Murakami
“No, he works at Merrill Lynch.â€
“The investment firm?â€
“That’s right,†she replied, clearly a little irritated. What other Merrill Lynch is there? her tone implied. “He’s a stockbroker.â€
Lokhin, my brother, recently started working at Merrill Lynch. Murakami wrote a short story in the New Yorker a few months ago, tangentially touching upon Merrill Lynch. It is 4.56am here in Philadelphia while reading this Murakami short. Reminiscences of home. This story is dedicated to Lokhin. Miss you. Work hard.
