I call upon the European Commission and the European Parliament to examine the proposal for data retention very critically and uphold the protection of human rights, including privacy, in these difficult times.

The Western media bitches about China and the internet and how internet data has to be retained for 60 days. At the same time, the EU proposes a data retention of phone data for one year and internet data for half a year of 450 million Europeans. Make sure Europe does not turn into a Big Brother police state.
