New York Times review of Sin City

Movies I am highly anticipating: two are comic-related. I used to devour comics and still occasionally read them. So one can imagine I am very psyched about two upcoming Frank Miller projects: Sin City, due to premiere on Friday (ah, advantages to living in the US (!))

and Batman Begins directed by Christopher Nolan, which should be amazing for those who have seen Memento. Yet the original director slated to take on this job is one of my alltime favorite: Darren Aronofsky, of Pi and Requiem for a Dream fame. Short of Burton, I cannot imagine anyone else making a ‘darker’ adaption possible, which, in case this is ambiguous, would have been a Very Good Thing. Opening June 17, 2005. And isn’t that just the coolest movie poster ever?

The subtitle is from a poem Desiderata
